Last Sacrifice chapter 5

The number one thing on Rose's mind: get away from Dimitri. It wasn't just because of their romantic past or how hard it was to be around him when he wanted nothing to do with her, it was because she didn't want him to get in trouble because of her. After a couple hours of silence Dimitri spoke up.
"Don't even think about it."
Rose tried to play dumb though and pretend she didn't know what he was talking about. He went on to saying it wouldn't work for her to try and escape. After arguing back ad forth about it though she figured she wasn't going to get anywhere so she moved onto the next topic: why wasn't she informed on the escaped, she thought she could help. He went onto explain though that if she would have known she could have given it all away. After arguing for awhile she gave up and everything became silent again.

They had to be extra careful on the road and where they went because word got out fast about what happened and had everybody out looking for them. They drove straight for awhile until they came a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania sign.

Dimitri explained quickly what was going on. There were guardians in the car that was following them and they needed to find a new car quick to throw them off. He pulled up to WEST LAND CINEMA. He told Rose to get out quickly and run the the mall across the street and walk around not drawing attention, he told her he'd meet her back there in a half hour. She didn't hesitate at all and sprinted out of the car.

Once in the mall she didn't think twice about ditching Dimitri. She was too scared and knew there were too many guardians at the time, and even though he drove her crazy she knew he'd have her best interest at heart. Once a half hour hit she went to their meeting spot but was getting worried because he didn't show up yet.

If I was in that situation I would probably be having panic attacks 24/7. I couldn't imagine having the whole vampire world after you and being calm about it. I would be freaked out if I was Rose knowing that Dimitri hasn't shown up yet. I would be worried for my self and him.

Last Sacrifice chapter 4

General view of the tunnel crowded with techno music fans where a stampede crushed at least 15 people to death and injured dozens at Germany's famous Love Parade festival on July 24, 2010 in Duisburg, Germany. Thousands of other revelers keep partying at the event unaware of the deadly stampede that started when police tried to block thousands more people from entering the already-jammed parade grounds.

Everyone was running everywhere trying to find their cars and families and leave court. They had no idea what was going on, but to Rose's surprise Lissa was shocked at all, she just stood there. In that moment Rose realized that Lissa had to be in on it but didn't know why. But then a commotion in the jail snapped Rose back into her own mind. There were grunts and exclamations being heard as She pressed herself against her cell bars to see what was going on. She didn't know what was going to happen or if her cell was going to blow up to, but it didn't. Shortly, the scuffling died down and the footsteps started coming closer. Out of anyone it ended up being her friends Eddie and Mkhail.
"What's going on?????" Rose demanded.
After a few short seconds they explained to her what was going on: they were breaking her out. They explained that there was no guardians left in the jail, that they all went to check out the explosion except for two, which they took down. They told her they had to hurry , so she quickly got up and out of her cell, but she was shocked to see who was the end of the hall. Dimitri.

Trying to ignore her romantic feelings she asked him why he was there and wasn't he suppose to be on house arrest? Eddie quickly answered for him though saying he "escaped" meaning they broke him out too.  Dimitri finally told them all to come on, that there wasn't much time.  As the turned the next corner another familiar face appeared: Adrian. Rose hugged her boyfriend and then asked him what his part was in this little "scheme." He explained that there was no way She and Dimitri could travel across court looking like themselves, so Adrian was there to disguise them with spirit. Plus he just wanted to see his girlfriend.

As soon as explanation were finished Adrian put up the disguises and they quickly headed across court. They ran to a parking garage to where their get away vehicle would be. Once arriving at the parking garage un-detected Dimitri pointed to the Honda civic. Why would you choose a Honda civic as a getaway car? Rose was wonder. They told her though that it would blend in and wouldn't be as noticeable once out of court.

Once Dimitri and Rose were in the car she asked how they were going to get out of court when there was a huge line to get out? Before he could even answer though another explosion happened on the south end of court, on the court's wall. The crowd went frantic, but Rose realized this made them an easy route to escape. Once out of court Rose asked why Dimitri was doing this, and she was furious at his answer. It wasn't for her at all, Lissa asked him to, and he felt like he owed her for his life. She was beyond pissed and told him off, saying he didn't have to stay with her and can drop her off as soon as they get to the main road. Dimitri quickly told her she wasn't going to get rid of her soon and she realized that protesting wasn't getting her anywhere.

Wow. The whole explosion thing would be crazy to see. If I was Rose I would be having mixed feelings. I would be excited that I was finally getting out of jail so that once I was gone I could clear my name, but I would be upset that the man I was in love with was only helping me because my best friend asked him to. It would be hard being stuck with the one you love when they didn't show any kind of emotion for you back. She's in for a long trip.

Last Sacrifice chapter 3

This chapter starts with the bond between Rose and Lissa disappearing. Rose couldn't figure out why this was happening. She was shocked and it was the worst day of imprisonment yet. It was agonizing for her not being able to make sure Lissa was okay, a fear surged through her. Knowing there was nothing she could do about it there she went to sleep.

She woke up the next day worrying that the bond would still be down, but it wasn't. She was relieved but she quickly found out the reason why she couldn't get through, Lissa was purposely hiding something from Rose. But what? This drove her ever crazier. Inside Lissa's mind Rose watched Christian meet up with Lissa. He reassured her that everything would be okay and that the plan would work. What plan though? Rose hated being out of the loop.

Daniella Ishkov, Adrian's mother, found Lissa in a panic state, asking where Adrian was. Lissa explained to her that he should be coming soon, that he was drunk last night so he was moving slow this morning. Rose sensed the lie in Lissa's voice, but why would she lie to Daniella? Everything that was going on this morning was confusing Rose, but she decided to continue watching to figure out exactly what was going on. Lissa went on to the funeral procession. She was representing the Dragmoirs ( one person from each of the royal families walked beside the casket as a sign of respect.

As they walked Rose realized Lissa's attention was somewhere else. She seemed to be starring off into space. The procession continued to walk to down the long path the chapel. Then Rose figured it out, or at least part of it. Lissa was starring at the two statues that were beside that chapel. But why? They walked closer and closer and before Rose could even think of a reason why Lissa was looking at those figurines...BOOM! they exploded and everything turned into ciaos.

If I was Rose in this situation I would be freaking out as well. Not knowing what is going on when you can tell someone is lying would make me want to figure it out even more. If I saw those statues explode I would probably freak out. I wouldn't know what was going on and why that happened. I would think it was a terrorist attack or something, but apparently Lissa had something to do with it, but why?

Last Sacrifice chapter 2

Chapter 2 starts off with Rose surrounded by ghosts in her cell. She trys to summon Tatiana because she is the one with the answers. Finally she appeared, in that bloody state that she was found in her room. Rose asked her question after question.
"Did you Write this?"
"Is it true?"
But Tatiana didn't say anything. She just gazed at Rose. With frustration, Rose gave for the time being and pushed her walls back up to block out the ghosts. Starting to get bored Rose decided to stretch out on the little bed that she had and tune into Lissa. Rose thought she would be moping around that her friend was locked up, but she was dress shopping. Then Rose realized just what for, the queen's funeral.

There Lissa got into a argument with the boutique owner. The owner insisted She get a long velvet dress to go along with tradition but Lissa was in no mood to be told what to do and knew it was suppose to be more than 90 degrees outside. There was no way she was wearing long sleeves, so she went with a knee length sweetheart dress.

Christan Ozera, Lissa's boyfriend, then showed up saying he had some good news. He told Lissa ( and Adrian who showed up during the who dress argument) that Dimitri was going to be under less supervision. He still needed to have two guards with him at all times, but he wasn't being kept in a cell no longer. This news frustrated Rose and she went back into her own mind. She was happy for Dimitri, but was still mad at him that he only wanted to see Lissa and wanted nothing to do with her.

If i was in Lissa's position i would feel really frustrated and upset to. I don't think I would personally be able to handle it as well as she does. I would feel horrible if I knew my best friend was wrongfully locked up and there was nothing I could do about it, while someone I respected was murdered and the killer was still out there. If I was Rose I would feel confused, sad, and mad too if the man I was inlove with and just set out to restore his life didn't want anything to do with me or even acknowledged me. I think it would tare my heart apart.

The Last Sacrifice by Ricelle Mead

The Last Sacrifice is the final book in the vampire academy series. I decided to read this book because the previous five books in the series really caught my attention. I love the romance to action ratio in this series and I'm sure it'll be the same in the last book.

The first chapter starts off with Rose behind bars in the basement of the court. She has been arrested for allegedly killing the queen, but she was wrongly accused. No one believes she is innocent because her and the queen had a rocky relationship to begin with. The only thing she has in possession is a note that she keeps reading over and over. It's from queen Tatiana, saying how if she was reading this something terrible has happened. She goes on to say that Lissa is not the last Dragmoir, her father Eric Dragmoir had an illegitimate child, which can give Lissa the power she rightfully deserves in court.

Rose didn't know if she could believe  Tatiana. She played with this thought in her head which seemed like forever. Eventually she decided she would rely on the only source she knew she could: The ghosts. So in that instant she let down the walls she has been keeping up for so long, and the ghosts seep in.

If i was in Rose's position I would be going crazy. I don't know how she stays so calm when she has been wrongfully accused of murder and now knows a secret about her best friend and has no way of reaching her. I also find it interesting that Rose is able to talk to ghost's, especially the ghost's of people she knew. That would be very helpful when you needed to find out answers that only they would know.

Spirit Bound Chapter 9

Once arriving at the restaurant they immediately knew who Robert was because Lissa could spot his aura from across the room. After approaching the table Victor sat beside his brother and then the others followed. After Robert and Victor caught up a little bit Robert asked who the rest of them were. Victor explained that they needed to ask Robert some questions, that it was the price of him being allowed to visit him. After pushing and pushing him Robert finally asked what we wanted to know.  Rose, though nervous, asked Robert about his so called accomplishment on freeing a strigoi. He seemed out of it. But then he said her. He freed Her. Robert tells her hoe strigoi are made by stakes so they only way they could be brought back is by a stake. Rose quickly argues though that she has killed many strigois with stakes and they have stayed dead. But Robert proceeds to tell her it takes a special stake; a stake charmed with spirit.

Rose question's Robert though, asking if its really that easy. But he tells her its not easy at all. He then goes on to tell her that she can't do it,, only a spirit user can, and this immediately sends her into a panic. There was no way she was going to put Lissa into that kind of danger. Anger suddenly rose in Lissa as she told Rose that he couldn't tell her what to do. The two then continued to argue back and fourth on the matter.

After a little time Robert offered to show them how to infuse a stake with spirit. They all quickly realized that it wouldn't be smart to pull it out right there in the restaurant. Victor suggested they go up to te hotel room and after some hesitation Rose agreed and they left the restaurant and headed up to the room.

The casino was crowded and Rose and Eddie tried really hard to keep the group together to prevent Victor and Robert from making an escape.Eddie saw a stairway that would be free of crowds so they went towards it but it was lost cause because it was a fire exit only. As they turned around and took a couple steps Rose yelled at Eddie to stop, who was leading the group. The nausea came over her, which was her inner sign that strigoi were near by. She then reallied their was strigoi between them and the casino.

Spirit Bound Chapter 8

They didn't know if Victor was tricking them by saying his brother was in Las Vegas, but with no other leads and needing to get out of Alaska fast, it was the only thing to do. So they headed off. They soon ran into a slight problem though. Victor didn't have an ID so they couldn't take a public airplane. Once returning the can to Bud's Car Rental, Victor asked him if there was a private airport near by where they could take a charter. Bud told them their was but it wouldn't be cheap, but money was of no issue to them. Lissa had a trust fund which funded her with money each month and Rose had a left over credit card from when she sweet-talked Adrian, her boyfriend, into funding her trip to Russia in the previous book. At the airport they met up with a pilot who could take them, but only to Seattle, there he knew another pilot though who could take them all the way to Las Vegas.

On the plan ride Rose was able to get out of Victor why his brother was living in such a highly populated place, such as Las Vegas, because vampires usually lived in smaller cites where they could go undetected, especially ones like Robert Doru who do not want to be found. Eventually he gave in and told them that Robert didn't live in Las Vegas proper, that he lived in a small city just outside of it near a canyon. Victor told them though that Robert valued his privacy so they would have him meet them in the middle of Las Vegas. Once they arrived they took a taxi to the middle of the strip. They instructed the taxi driver to take them to the Luxor, which was the hotel they were going to be staying at. They were staying there because Eddie had always wanted to stay their; he told them if your going to stay anywhere in Vegas it might as well be in a pyramid.

Once they were all settled in their room Rose commanded Victor to call Robert. She wanted him to use Lissa's cell phone instead of the hotel phone so she could have record of the phone number. It took some convincing on Victor's behalf to get Robert to believe he was actually out of prison. He then started to make his pitch on how Robert needed to come meet them. After twenty minutes Victor finally convinced him to come meet them and he set up a dinner  at one of the hotel's restaurants and then disconnected. They waited in the room until dinner. Suddenly a knock was heard from the door. Lissa new it was Adrian, who was Rose's boyfriend, because he was also a spirit user and when spirit users are in close range they can sense each other auras. He walked in happy to see all of them, except when he saw Victor he was in shock. He demanded what was going on and told them that everyone was out looking for him. Now that Adrian was here, he wouldn't leave so Rose had to go tell him what was going on.

Rose took Adrian out of the room and downstairs of the casino so that her friends and Victor wouldn't hear them. Adrian took of after finding out Rose's true intensions on why she freed Victor : So she could get to Robert, who hopefully would help her turn strigoi back, and if it worked she could turn Dimitri back, who was her "ex-boyfriend" who she still longed for. Rose really didn't want Adrian made at her, she truly did care for him a lot and loved being with him. She asked him to help but he just said he needed more drinks and took off. As he left she told him they were meeting at 4:30 at the restaurant, and then he was out of sight.

4:30 came around and it was time for them to head out. When Rose opened the door way Adrian was standing there, as if he was about to knock. He said hey in his normal casual formal and told them he was going to join them. Then they were off to the restaurant where they were meeting up with Robert Doru and hopefully finding out about Dimitri's only salvation.

Spirit Bound Chapter 7

Victor did as Rose told him to do at the end of the previous chapter and attacked her. The guardians immediately flew up and grabbed him, not seeing Rose as a threat because she was "human". But then she attacked them. Rose knocked one of the guardians unconscious but was having trouble with the other one so she needed Lissa to compel him. He was strong, and it took a little bit longer to compel him than the other guard but eventually she did it. They got the guard to tell them where Victor's key was, which was in the unconscious guy's pocket. Rose searched him and found the key and then went to unlock Victor from his shackles, warning him not to cause a scene or start a fight or he'd be knocked out as fast as the other guy on the ground.

They then used the compelled guardian to find where the surveillance room was. They found out the Guardians name was Giovanni sand once to the surveillance room Rose and Giovanni ( under compulsion) attacked the two guardians who were on guard in there. The first guard went down easy. As the first one went down, the second one leaped for an alarm button but just missed it as Roe and Giovanni leaped towards him taking him down as well. After both of them were out, Lissa compelled Giovanni to disable all of the cameras and erase the last hour of footage.

After the work was done in the surveillance room Lissa instructed Giovanni to take them back to the wardens office where Thio and Eddie was. Once they entered the room Eddie realized it was time to go, so he leaped up towards Thio and put him in a choke hold, but before going down he let out a yelp. Two other guardians entered and another fight began. To make things even more difficult, as soon as one of the guardians were knocked out, Giovanni broke out of the compulsion and started fighting against Rose, and Eddie. Then to make matters worse, Giovanni ran towards a wall where another alarm button was and as he hit it a piercing wail filled the air. They quickly knocked Giovanni out and the four of them ran out of the room. The group ran towards the front doors only to realize they were locked from the inside. Eddie told them to wait as he ran back and grabbed one of the security cards the guardians had and sure enough it let them out. They made a dash for the rental car and all piled in as quickly as they could. Eddie stepped on the gas and headed for their last obstacle, the entrance gate. The guardian ran out of his post, but when he realized they weren't stopping he dodged out of the way. Eddie pushed down on the gas even harder then and blew through the wooden gate.

The prison then sent trucks after them. They came speeding down the street after them. Rose followed with the GPS telling Eddie where to turn, since they mapped out an escape route for afterwards. After a few sharp turns the road behind them was clear. Rose then turns around and explains to Victor in a harsh manor why they broke him out in the first place. It was to find his brother Robert Doru, and Victor was the only person who knew where he was. Robert Doru was the man who knew how to turn strigoi back into normal, living, vampires. With some hesitation, as Victor seemed to try to scheme in his mind how he could work this n him favor, he gave in and told them where they had to go : Las Vegas, then they were off.

Spirit Bound Chapter 6

The beginning of the chapter starts off with Rose, Lissa, and Eddie on the airplane to Alaska. There they talk out some of the plans for their misson. Once they land they try to rent a car but only being 18 they were refused a lot until suggested to Buds Car Rentals. They told them that if they produced enough money he was sure to rent them a car, which he did. Once they got checked into the hotel Rose and Eddie went to scope out the prison while Lissa stayed back to work on her charms, which were compulsion infused. The prison ad a huge stone wall surrounding it and tons of guards. They knew there was only one way it : through the front door. As a SUV drove past, they realized that's how they had to get in.

The were off on their mission now. Rose and Lissa dressed up in disguise as feeders, and Eddie put on his formal wear so he would look like a chauffeur. They drove to the prison. There they came to their first gate, and a guardian checked what their business there was. Eddie handed over official papers on feeder deliveries at the prison that they copied out of the file Rose stole. The guard hesitated a little, examining both of the girls, but after assuming they were human he sent them through. From their a new guard took them through the prison, which had an erie feel, to the warden's office. Rose and Lissa ( posing as feeders) were then split up from Eddie and were taken down to the feeders room. Once in the feeders room Lissa used compulsion on the guard there to alter the schedule and have Victor Dashkov be the next one to come to the feeder room for a meal. Moments later two guardians and Victor Dashkov walked in. Victor was taken to where Rose was seated. as he was about to draw blood from her he stopped, and realized who she was.

A slow, intrigued smile spread over his face, blatantly displaying his fangs, " Oh my. This might be the best meal I've ever had." His voice was barely audible, covered by the conversation of the others.
" Put your teeth anywhere near me and it'll be your last meal," I murmured, voice just as quiet. " But if you want any chance of getting out of here and seeing the world again, you'll do exactly what I say."
He gave me a questioning look. I took a deep breath, dreading what I had to say next.
     " Attack me." ( p.126-127)

Spirit Bound Chapter 5

The fifth chapter starts out with the newly graduated vampires getting ready to go to the ball. The ball is for the moroi who are living at the court to put in bids for their Guardian of choice. The Royal families then choose who they will be placed with. Lissa of courses wants to be placed with Rose but while at the ball they find out that Tasha Ozera, who is Lissa's ex-boyfriend's aunt, also put in a bid for Rose.

At the party Lissa and Rose were met by the Queen of the Royal court, Tatiana, who was the one who made special plans with Lissa to stay at the royal court and get the chance to go to a larger college because she took a special interest in her. Lissa was the last of the Dragomirs after her family died in a car accident. Rose however, was normally not on the queen's good side. The queen however called them both over for a conversation. She went on to tell them that Lissa could go visit the college Lehigh University, where Lissa would be attending in the fall, and could take Rose with her, which excited Lissa. Rose didn't want to let Lissa down on the fact that if their plan was actually to work on breaking into the prison, that they wouldn't be able to make the college trip.

After the conversation with Tatiana, Rose me up with her good friend Eddie who was also a guardian. She needed to ask him something but felt guilty about it because it could put his whole life in danger. He knew right away something was wrong and wouldn't take a "nothing" for an answer, so Rose asked the question. she asked him if he would come with them on their prison break trip and he immediately agreed to. He sort of felt he owed Rose, because she saved his life twice, but he agreed out of friendship and loyalty.

The night came ( which was really day-light out), and they all met up a garage on court. There Rose, Lissa, and Eddie met up with  Mikhail, who was the guardian Rose ran into in headquarters. He didn't believe her plan could work but he hoped it would, so he told Rose he was all in for it and wanted to join. He was then used for their escape route, since court guardians could leave without being questions. He piled Rose, Lissa, and Eddie into the trunk of a new black Doge Charger and then he drove off to the front gates. It took a minute once he got to the gates through, but with little hesitation he got through. Once he was far enough from the court's gates Mikhail pulled over and let them out of the trunk. The then piled into the car and were off to the airport to catch the next flight to Alaska ( where the prison currently was).

Spirit Bound chapters 1-4

The begining of the book starts off with Rose at her trials. The trials are setup for novices, the incomming gaurdians. They train all their lives for these trials, which are supose to be a replica of what they could be faced with out in the real world when incountering Strigoi. Rose is already a skilled Damphir, killing many strigoi in her life already, recieving molija marks which represent each killing. She goes through her trials with little to no problems. Soon after the trials the Moroi and Damphirs Graduate from Vampire Academy.

After graduation Rose, Lissa, Adrian, and Christian leave for the royal court, where they will be staying. There they run into mia, a former classmate of theirs, who lives at the royal court. Rose and Lissa plan to met up with heer later, where they can discuss their future plans.

Mia's father has worked at the royal court for sometime, so Mia knows some "inside" information that others might not. So when Rose and Lissa go meet up with Mia at her house, they ask her for her help.

Rose has a plan for her and Lissa, sort of an adventure, for them to go on after they graduated. The plan is to go after her love Dimitri and save him, since he has recently become strigoi.  Dimitri was Rose's mentor while at St. Vladimir's, and all though it was not allowed, they fell in love. During Rose's final year at school their was a strigoi attack on the school. Many people died and some were turned into strigoi, like Dimitri. Recently though, Rose has found out there was a person who could change Dimitri back, but he was related to Victor Dashcov who was now in jail for kidnapping Lissa.

After getting the information they needed from Mia Rose and Lissa broke into the headquarters to get the information the prison that Victor is being held. They got pretty far. Lissa used her compulsion, which is use her spirit powers to make people do what she wants them to,to get them passed the guards. Rose then went to where all the files are held and finally found where the file on the prison was at. She decided to take the whole file because she knew all the information inside would be valuable on their trip. Right as she was about to leave though a guard popped up. He let her go though because he fell in love with someone who turned strigoi as well and he knew her pain. He didn't believe the change could be made but he hoped it could happen, so he let her pass.

Spirt Bound by Richelle Mead

Spirit Bound is the fifth book in the Vampire Academy Novel Series. I have read the previous four books and I love them.
http://www.amazon.com/Spirit-Bound-Vampire-Academy-Book/dp/1595143661/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1296848942&sr=8-1

There is one more book left in the series after spirit bound. These books are about a group of vampire students and teachers who are living at St. Valdimirs Academy.

Wikipedia's definition of a vampire is : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampire

There are different types of vampire's who attend this school. The Moroi are the royal vampires who attend the school and take basic classes as well as classes on magic. All Moroi specialize in one of the five elements of magic; these elements are fire, water, air, earth, and spirit. Then there are the novices/damphirs, which are the younger versions of the guardians on campus. These vampires take regular classes as ell as physical combat classes. They are trained to protect the moroi when they get out into the real world after schooling. When they graduate novices receive a promise mark and is then known as a guardian. They are then assigned to one of the Moroi and will live and protect them out in the real world. Then there is one more class of vampires, one's who cannot be on campus. These vampires are the undead, know as Strigoi. Strigoi are made not born. These vampires were once either a Moroi or a novice/guardian and chose to or were force to become a Strigoi. Strigois are made when they take a life of another while drinking their blood.
